Water treatment equipment is frequently exposed to various types of water; chloride ions and microorganisms present in the water can easily cause corrosion in metal components. Thanks to its excellent corrosion resistance, stainless steel round bar is widely used to manufacture components such as rotating shafts, connectors, and mounting brackets for water treatment equipment.

Stainless steel round bar features a solid, circular cross-section and uniform material quality, making it easy to process via turning, milling, and drilling. Components machined from this material—such as agitator shafts, aeration device pins, and internal filter bolts—resist corrosion when submerged in water. They do not contaminate the water with rust particles, thereby ensuring stable effluent quality. Even during prolonged submersion, the components maintain dimensional stability, preventing equipment jams caused by rust-induced expansion.

Carbon steel round bar is more cost-effective and is typically used for equipment base anchor bolts in dry environments, while galvanized round bars are often used for guardrails and simple supports in outdoor water treatment facilities, relying on the zinc coating to withstand moisture. Stainless steel round bars can be cut to specific lengths, and the finished parts require no additional anti-rust painting, simplifying post-processing steps. During maintenance, the low risk of corrosion makes disassembly easier, thereby reducing equipment downtime.

During the component design and selection phase, engineers choose the appropriate stainless steel grade based on water composition; for instance, grades with superior pitting resistance are selected for environments with high chloride ion concentrations. For load-bearing rotating shafts, the raw material undergoes heat treatment to enhance strength and fatigue resistance, enabling the components to withstand the cyclic loads associated with continuous equipment operation.

Water treatment equipment comes in many forms—ranging from small filtration units to large-scale biochemical treatment systems—all of which utilize components machined from stainless steel round bar. Scrap material generated during processing can be recycled and remelted, ensuring high resource utilization. These components offer a long service life, reducing the frequency of replacements and lowering the equipment's total lifecycle operating costs; consequently, their application in the water treatment equipment manufacturing industry continues to expand.
