Modern industrial facilities have multifaceted requirements for their facades, encompassing corrosion resistance, aesthetics, and thermal insulation.
Modern industrial facilities have multifaceted requirements for their facades, encompassing corrosion resistance, aesthetics, and thermal insulation. PPGI and PPGL color-coated steel coils—along with complementary aluminum coils—are roll-formed into exterior wall panels that integrate structural protection with visual appeal, making them widely used in the construction of industrial facility facades.
PPGI coils utilize a galvanized steel substrate coated with an organic protective layer that blocks rain and UV radiation, thereby delaying substrate corrosion. Their diverse color options allow for alignment with the facility's overall design style, while the resulting panels feature a smooth, neat appearance. PPGL coils employ an Al-Zn (aluminum-zinc) alloy substrate, offering superior corrosion resistance—particularly in high-humidity environments—making them ideal for exterior wall cladding exposed to the elements over the long term.
Profiled carbon steel coils serve as the inner structural panels of the facility, providing necessary structural support. Stainless steel coils are used for interior walls in workshops containing corrosive gases, protecting against erosion caused by volatile process media. Galvanized steel coils can serve as base substrates, combined with insulation materials to form composite cladding panels. Silicon steel coils are not used for building envelopes but are primarily utilized to manufacture iron cores for workshop electrical equipment, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. Film-coated aluminum coils, characterized by their low weight and high corrosion resistance, are suitable for large-span facade projects with strict load-bearing limitations.
The continuous roll-forming process ensures high production efficiency and uniform panel specifications, simplifying on-site installation and significantly shortening the facade construction schedule. Composite wall panels can incorporate an insulating core material to provide thermal insulation, thereby reducing energy consumption for climate control within the facility. The panel coatings offer excellent weather resistance, resisting fading and chalking during prolonged outdoor exposure, which reduces the frequency of exterior wall refurbishment.
Material selection must take the facility's environment into account: chemically resistant coatings are prioritized for workshops handling volatile chemicals, while substrates with high-performance anti-corrosion coatings are selected for rainy or humid regions. Wall panel joints are fitted with waterproof sealing accessories to prevent rainwater from penetrating the wall structure. Once the materials are dismantled at the end of their service life, the base material can be recycled, aligning with the trend toward green industrial building construction; consequently, color-coated steel coil enclosure systems are increasingly being adopted for the facades of modern factory buildings.
